HVCC needs to be stopped, repealed and tossed in the garbage heap! I have been an independant fee appraiser for 16 years now—and now that HVCC has really kicked in I am getting pressured to cut my fees for the first time in 15 years (even though prices of everything else are rising), I am being instructed on how to dress to inspect a property by the AMCs, I have pages more of work, more comps to provide and am expected to conform to the same exact standards in urban areas, even though I work in a complex, extremely rural area without many sales! Add to that even though I have been successfully building and running my business for 15 years AND an FHA approved appraiser for probably 10, now I am being required to become a Certified Appraiser as opposed to my current Licensed Appraiser or I am going to be dropped from just about every AMC approved appraiser list!! This is outrageous and unfair.
